TCTS Service
The Computer Time Service (TCTS) system in Taiwan was developed
by utilizing industrial Personal Computer (IPC) to protect
it against corrosion, moisture, dust, and to make maintenance
simply. An embedded PC bus level time code generator, which
is synchronized to Inter-Range Instrumentation Group (IRIG)
B code, is used to provide both a source of time data and
time maker for measuring the path delay. The "European
Telephone Code" is modified into TCTS time format to match
our needs such as Lunar Calendar especially. Two modes,
One-way and Loop-back, are operated. The propagation delay
was measured precisely and compensated for one-way mode,
thus the measured time correlation between TL and Tai-Chung
(about 200km away to TL) is better than 2 ms after the
compensation. Now, we have launched 2 TCTS systems with
8 lines, 5 speeds via the telephone line for public.
